This study identifies the most significant odor compounds in pig and poultry farms to better understand odor issues and develop effective management strategies

   A literature review and compound analysis revealed common substances like methanethiol and trimethylamine, as well as specific ones like hydrogen sulfide in pig farms and acetaldehyde in poultry farms. The study emphasizes the importance of proper odor management on farms to mitigate negative impacts on health and the environment.

   The next 8th World Congress of the Digital Olfaction Society will take place on December 5-6, 2024 at Ap Tokyo Yaesu in Tokyo, Japan. The Digital Olfaction Society (DOS) hosts events approximately every two years. The first DOS event took place in Berlin, Germany and since then, five more events have taken place, predominantly in Tokyo, Japan.

  The previous edition, the 7th Digital Olfaction Society World Congress, took place on November 29-30, 2022 in Tokyo - Japan, in-person & online. The objective of DOS is to gather, share, and complete the knowledge recently established about olfactory digitization.

   Researchers and experts in the field of artificial olfaction are invited to contribute their insights and discoveries to a special issue of Sensors journal focusing on Electronic Nose (eNose) technology. Spearheaded by Prof. Dr. Jesus Lozano, Dr. Antonio Ruiz-Canales, and Dr. Patricia Arroyo, this special issue seeks to explore the latest advancements in Instrumental Odour Monitoring Systems (IOMS) technology and its applications.
