La conférence ODORA24 s'est déroulée les 5 et 6 novembre et a été un véritable succès. Au départ, 125 personnes de 9 pays s'étaient inscrites, mais en raison des inondations dans la région de Valence et de l'alerte rouge en Catalogne, beaucoup n'ont finalement pas pu participer à la conférence. Nous adressons nos meilleurs vœux à tous les collègues touchés par cette catastrophe.

Au cours de ces deux jours, nous avons beaucoup appris, noué de nouveaux contacts, discuté, ri, mais aussi partagé des moments de tristesse. Nous avons pris le petit-déjeuner, le déjeuner et le dîner avec des amis, et un groupe d'entre nous est allé courir. Certains collègues ont pu visiter une usine de farine de poisson située à proximité. Nous remercions Ibon d'avoir organisé cette petite visite avec la délégation chilienne des organisations de pêche.

   The Congress on Odour Management that will take place in Medellin, Colombia, on 3-5 April 2025 is already underway, and the preliminary leaflet is here. This conference is organised by the Colombian Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering ACODA. The date has been strategically set to take place just one week before the odour management conference in Santiago, Chile. In this way, odour managers get a combo of two odour management conferences in just one week.

   The Colombian Congress will be a convergence of academic conferences and a business fair, uniting professionals and companies from various sectors, including sanitary, environmental, chemical, and food. This diverse gathering will provide a platform for networking and the exchange of ideas, and will showcase goods and services that bolster the measurement, control, and mitigation of offensive odours.

   The 27th edition of the Ecomondo fair will be held from 5th to 8th November 2024 in Rimini, Italy. As part of the environmental exhibition, this event has become a key gathering for experts, researchers, industry leaders, and public administrators to discuss innovative strategies for managing odour emissions. For that, there is usually a session about odours. This year’s session, titled "Odour emissions: from abatement technologies to new control strategies," will present the latest advances in technology and methodologies for controlling odorous pollutants. The official language of this session is Italian.

   The programme includes a wide range of presentations from leading public research bodies, as well as case studies and best practices shared by public administrations, environmental control agencies, and companies involved in odour management technologies. The workshop will open with an update on the work of national and international technical committees on odour regulations, setting the stage for in-depth discussions on regulatory developments and practical approaches to managing odorous emissions.
