   UNE, the Spanish standardisation body, published the final document last week, approving the new UNE 77270 Standard Building collaborative odour maps through citizen science. So from now on, Spain has a new Standard, the first one based on citizen science, this time for odour mapping, which sets a precedent at international level.

   The new Standard is available on the AENOR website at a price of 106 € for all those entities, companies or individuals interested in its purchase (in Spanish).

   The upcoming "Ecomondo" conference is set to take place in Rimini, Italy. The conference is scheduled for Tuesday, 7th November, and will run from 14:00 to 17:30. Once again, this conference will include a special session on ""Odour Emissions: from Abatement Technologies to New Control Strategies".

   Odour Manager enthusiasts are invited to participate in the 10th Conference on Odours in the Environment, taking place from November 29-30, 2023, at the Leipzig Marriott Hotel in Germany. This German conference takes place regularly every 2 years and this time is the 10th event.

   This two-day conference offers attendees the opportunity to immerse themselves in the intricacies of measuring, forecasting, and evaluating odour emissions and in ambient air. It serves as a platform for sharing practical experiences and is an essential event for those passionate about environmental odour management.

   The Superintendence of the Environment (SMA) in Chile is organizing an online workshop on October 26th at 11:00 (16:00 Central European time) that will be broadcast on YouTube regarding Compliance with the Emission Standard for Pig Farm Facilities. The Odour Emission Standard for the Pig Farming Sector was published in February of this year, but where does its compliance currently stand?

   The Odour Emission Standard for the Pig Farming Sector applies to pig breeding, fattening, and/or reproduction operations with a quantity equal to or greater than 750 animals and a weight exceeding 25 kilograms. This legislation establishes three types of emitting sources. Operations with between 750 and 25,000 animals are considered small emitting sources, those with between 25,000 and 50,000 heads are classified as medium-sized, and those with over 50,000 animals are categorized as large emitting sources. This online workshop, broadcast on YouTube, will provide details on compliance with this law.
