   P48I3The technical recommendations in the design of stacks indicate that the emission at higher height, or a greater exhaust speed gases, decreases the impact in the surroundings. In fact, it is usual increases stack height in problematic sources.

   Taking into account this principle, additional propulsion systems for conducted sources have been designed. This type of technology allows to power the exhaust gases at a high speed, diluting simultaneously with a high flow rate, and minimizing the impact on the environment.

A Amo   For the industrial sector, in many occasions it is the directed sources that are the main route of emission of pollutants into the atmosphere. In these cases, the technical recommendations for minimizing the impact of industrial emissions on the environment indicate the chanelling of these emissions for dispersion at some height as a first step towards establishing possible corrective measures.

   The emission of these pollutants at a higher altitude, or with a higher gas exit velocity at the focus, minimizes the impact on the environment. Using this principle as a basis, additional propulsion systems have been designed for directed sources. This propulsion is achieved by installing a turbine on the upper exterior of the chimney. In this study, the Calpuff atmospheric dispersion model was used for the evaluation of the improvement in the environmental quality obtained in the surroundings of a chemical industry installation, from the installation of three Eolage (Delamet) propulsion systems, on three chimneys.

gral21 09   The Graz Lagrangian (GRAL) system is a Lagrangian particle model with a free Graphic User Interface (GUI) available in both Linux and Windows and it is well know among odour modellers. Now the developers have released the version 21.09 with plenty of bug fixes and new features.

    One more year, the GRAL GRAMM team have been working on changes and modifications in the code, and correcting bugs. This is the list of new features and bugs corrected for GRAL, GRAMM and the Graphic User Interface (GUI) for this release.
